Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.

The "Papa Joe" Hendricks Award This award recognizes a student who has played an active role in encouraging the hearts of his/her fellow Mercerians and has been dedicated to unifying the student body and positively contributing to the Mercer community. Spright Dowell Award Each year the Mercer Circle presents the Spright Dowell Award to the first year student who has demonstrated exceptional scholarship, leadership and service.
